Children learn through play. Each day offers opportunities for the advancement of social/emotional, cognitive and spiritual development through both group and individual activities. Our hands-on curriculum encourages children to delve deep into topics that interest them. Each class has age appropriate equipment and materials, insuring children are exposed to math, language arts, science and social studies. At B’nai Torah, we weave Judaism into our daily schedule with ease. From baking Challah on Shabbat to our whole school Passover Seder, children are learning about what it means to be Jewish.
"Will you be my friend?" 
Relationship building is at the core of our philosophy. The teachers help facilitate how to make new friends, play with others and resolve conflict through language. Small class sizes and warm teachers allow us to have a family feeling. The B’nai Torah Rabbis and Cantor are integral to the success of our school. By telling stories, singing songs and building relationships with the children, families and staff help us learn and grow.

Honey Bears: Must be 2 by September 1st. Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-11:30 with an optional 3rd day starting in January.
Friendly Friends: Must be 3 by September 1st. 3, 4 and 5 day options. 9:00-11:30.
Explorers: Must be 4 by September 1st. Mon-Fri. 9:00-11:30.
Noon Platoon: Optional extended day enrichment program for Friendly Friends and Explorers. Monday-Thursday from 11:30-1:30 Choose the day(s) that work for your family. Noon platoon participants experience Spanish class, yoga and soccer, and much more.

Honey Bears Camp: Just right for your 2 year old
Camp Chayim Tovim (Life is Good): Day Camp for your 3 and 4 year olds. 3,4 and 5 day options available 9:30-1:00 - our Summer Camp makes use of our playground, classrooms and our access to the Beach. We go on weekly outings including to a local pool to learn how to swim. Our Junior Counselors provide an extra set of hands and a ready sense of adventure as they assist our experienced staff.
Tamy Jacobs has been the B’nai Torah Director of Early Childhood for the past three years. She has been working in the world of early childhood and in the Jewish world for over 30 plus years. She has taught for the Board of Jewish Education, Beth Emet Preschool and Sing and Dance in the city. Most recently Tamy was the Children and Family Director for the JCC's of Chicago. Many of you may know her from the Me and My Dad program she coordinated.
Tamy has had articles published in the JUF Shofar. She has also presented at Early Childhood conferences as well as other conferences on Adoption and Infertility.
Tamy has her Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. She has worked in the field of administrative social work for 25 years. Tamy has a broad scope of talents and skills she learned from owning an adoption consulting business as well as working at the JCCs of Chicago in a management level. Tamy is passionate about Jewish early childhood. She loves to watch children and their families grow together as they learn about their Jewish heritage.
Tamy and her husband Todd live in Highland Park with their two sons, Ethan and Max as well as their dog, Ike.
